“Altered Books: A hands-on activity”
Altered Books: A hands-on activity for exploring false dichotomies of kids supplies versus highest grades of art material. We will also look at the false idea that there are artists and none artists. The time will be spent with each person starting an altered book — making a place to catch ideas, scream with a pen, hunt for inspiration, or a place to put an expression not good enough to publish/frame but too interesting to throw out.
Wikipedia: An altered book is a form of mixed media artwork that changes a book from its original form into a different form, altering its appearance and/or meaning. Altered books may be as simple as adding a drawing or text to a page, or as complex as creating an intricate book sculpture.
